The Dermatologist’s Role in Diagnosing BPDCN

Dr. Whitney High introduces The Dermatology Digest’s Educational Podcast Series on BPDCN, a rare blood cancer that often presents as cutaneous lesions.

Blastic plasmacytoid dendritic cell neoplasm (BPDCN) is a rare, yet aggressive and difficult-to-diagnose blood cancer that nearly always presents with cutaneous involvement.

Guided by Whitney High, MD, JD, MEng, Associate Professor of Dermatology and Associate Director of Dermatopathology Laboratory, University of Colorado, The Dermatology Digest developed a 3-part educational podcast series that provides an overview of the disease, including the dermatologist’s important role in diagnosis and referral.

The first podcast was published in February 2021, followed by another in March and the final episode in April to complete the podcast series.

Dr. Whitney High spoke on BPDCN at the 2022 Maui Derm Meeting as part of the Pigmented Lesion Clinic (Parts 1 and 2) on Monday, January 25.
